It took me about five hours during the last three weeks to get that badge.
Is it worth it? And how can you get one?

We can’t confirm these since it’s hard to separate the effect of the badge from all other things that are going on, and you would need a comparison of at least 10 profiles with badges and 10 profiles without them.
We don’t have that many profiles with badges + other Richards’s data are overall correlated with ours, so we have no reason to doubt these specific figures.
Now, it is not critical for you to have this badge. If you still want to, here is how you get one or even more of them:
STEP 1: CHOOSE THE BADGE YOU WANT ( here – https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/topics/home)
STEP 2: CONTRIBUTE WITH TENS OF RELEVANT COMMENTS ON THE ARTICLES UNDER THAT SPECIFIC TOPIC YOU HAVE CHOSEN
Be aware that your contributions are visible to your current followers and may spam them. This is one of the reasons you need to keep those comments relevant:
STEP 3: STAY PATIENT AND CONTINUE CONTRIBUTING, since only 5% of TOP participants will get that badge.
→ They will kinda notify you that you are getting close.
→ Still, there is no clearly stated value that you need to reach.
→ The competition on different topics varies, and it’s much easier to become a TOP Voice on the less popular topic.
→ It’s clear that the algorithm avueles your position among other competitors according to the number of your comments on the articles concerning specific topic. And the number of likes that your contributions did get.
→ If and when you are being evaluated among 5% of the best contributors on that topic, you will get the badge in 24 hours.
And now you will have it for 60 days, after which it disappears, and you may begin anew.
Or you may contribute to other topics and get several badges.
Anyhow avoid this common mistake: you need to keep contributing to the articles about one topic. For example, I chose the Social Selling articles and did not switch to any other topics before I became one of the TOP 5% contributors.
Anyway, there is a minimum amount of articles concerning a single topic that you have to comment on to be eligible to get the badge – that is three.
It took me commenting on approximately 10 articles and about 30 contributions during the period of three weeks to get my badge.
Now the main question remains: in your specific case, is it worth it? I have to leave that one up to you.
